Apartment Paid Utilities and Amenities to Consider
In larger cities like Dallas and Fort Worth, there are a multitude of apartment communities and, they are competing for your business. And they know that renters are extremely interested in amenities in the units and on the property too. And some properties will even pay for certain utilities as well. But don’t make a leasing decision solely based upon the fact that some properties will pay for your utilities.

We have listed some items that you will want to consider when viewing apartment that pay some or all of your utilities.
Generally speaking, when there is just one provider in the area, it makes it easier for the property to pay one rate for all of the tenants that inhabit the community.

One of the first items on your list should be to check and see what utilities in the community are included. The apartment in question should have a list that will include these.  Most utilities paid will include water and sewer, gas, and electricity.  Usually cable and Internet will be your responsibility.

The second item on your list will be to find out some other general information that should be important to you.

Are there set up fees that you will be responsible for?

Will the utilities be in your name or do they remain in the name of another entity?

Will you be reimbursed by the community, or is everything included in your rent?

If you’re a/c ceases to work or light bulbs go out, will you have to pay for maintenance calls?

What about other issues? Do you call the utility provider directly or do you call the apartment manager?

In addition, you should be aware that just because it says “utilities included”  doesn’t mean that they are entirely free.  Luxury apartments Dallas will need to pay up the money somehow, and this means that they will included this in the cost of your monthly rent. So be aware of this as you tour communities and receive pricing.

As you compare properties that pay some utilities against others that do not, figure in an estimate of what those utilities might cost you in the latter apartment.
But you can also dig a little deeper. What about additional amenities like a fitness center?

If one property pays your electricity bill but doesn’t have a fitness center, weight this against the cost of not paying for a gym membership at a community that doesn’t pay for electricity. Read about leasing Victory Park apartments Dallas.
