Are some last minute guests coming over to visit and your apartment home is a mess? Be sure to have your quick apartment cleaning plan in place to get your home back into shape. This should be sure to make you feel better about the presentation of your apartment home to your friends.
Prepare Your Quick List
What areas of your home do you want to target first? Many professionals believe you should target your main areas where you guest will see. This will include the kitchen, living room, and bathrooms. Don’t worry so much about the bedrooms. They may peep in to see what it looks like, but they will probably be spending most of their time in the other more common areas. Some people just keep the doors closed.
The next step will be to figure out how much time it will take you to clean the specific areas. The guest will probably spend most of their time in the living room. So this is probably the best place to start. Organize any magazines on the tap, wipe and surfaces that are dusty, and throw away any extra trash. Make sure you keep your paper towels and cleaning supplies in a handy place.
Then clean the kitchen and guest bathroom. It should take you too long. If you have 30 minutes it should be enough time to clean surfaces and store away items in your closets and bedrooms.
Clean and Clear Surfaces
You want to create the image that your place is clean to your guests. This does not mean that it has to be perfect. Again to reiterate, clear off your surfaces and wipe the dust off of them. If you have papers, books, and other materials put them away. Either stack them together to make a nice appearance or place them in drawers or even under your sofa where they cannot be seen.
Your Bathrooms
Grab your toilet brush and wipe down your toilet bowl. Replace toilet paper if your running low. Wipe down your sink and place new napkins or towels for their use. If you have any trash, you might want to empty if to give your bathroom a cleaner appearance.
The Last Step
After you have wiped the surfaces, thrown away and items in the trash, and organized books and magazines, its time to enter the final phase. Organized your cushions on the sofa and straighten your chairs. Then get your vacuum out of your closet and give your entire apartment home a once over. Take a final quick look around to see if anything still looks out of place.
Right before you guests arrive you might want to put on some music or dim your lights. Turn on some lamps and light some candles.
