Living in an apartment community can be a wonderful experience. And your neighbors can add to the fun and excitement, especially when both of you get along. But what happens when your neighbor oversteps the boundaries? What should you do if your neighbor becomes too friendly?

Dealing with a neighbor who acts out or is a little to weird can be especially tricky. You don’t want to offend them as passing them in the hallways can make it too weird. And you don’t want to make any future dealings with them too inconvenient. So what do you do in these situations?

Read on to discover a few tips than can help you get through any uncomfortable situations with your apartment neighbors next door.

Its always important to begin the right way

You don’t want to mislead your neighbor in any way. First impressions seem to go a long way. If you don’t socialize much or don’t want to be bothered, then don’t go out of your way to do anything for your neighbor.  This doesn’t mean be rude to them. Just don’t invite them to your apartment home for get togethers or bake goods for them.  All you need to say is “hello” when you pass them in the hallway.

If you like to mingle with the  Dallas apartment renters in your community, take in consideration that if your friendly with a neighbor they may think it might be more than such. You just don’t know who your dealing with today.

Send the right signals

If your neighbor approaches you and invites you to a social even or wants you to be your best friend, you will need to catch this in the beginning. You will need to turn them down. Although it requires that you say “no,” it does not mean you have to be unpleasant. Most people will get it the third or fourth time they hear “no”.  Be consistent. This means not inviting them out or over for dinner at your place.

What if things go too far

Not often, but sometimes things will go too far. And polite words simply won’t do the trick.  Usually if you get defensive or angry you might throw a little fuel into the fire.  If someone simply does not get the picture then you may need to take a slightly different strategy.
Here are a few tactics you cant try.

*Don’t argue, get defensive, or upset. You want to remain extremely calm.
*If you getting harassed, document everything in case you need to get the police involved.
* If things really get bad you might have to get an attorney involved. Although it may cost money, it may be safer.
